I also suggest, "you're worse than Gary Birtles"
I've long since given up actually caring about individual footballers - Lukaku was a great signing for us, did his job and we make millions off the back of that - hard to complain about loyalty. If he'd have been hopeless he would have been binned off - Niasse like - he wasn't so pointless us expecting loyalty when it doesn't really exist in professional sport at this elite level.
The top players are essentially individual self employed business entities offering their services to whichever franchise will provide the most lucrative financial contract. It's a short career and they will maximise earnings whenever they can if they are delivering the product. If you're not, the franchise will release you without hesitation to minimise any further loss.
I support my club and the eleven on the pitch chosen to represent us - they are privileged to wear that Royal Blue shirt - for many of them they won't realise u til too late how lucky they have been to do so. So, back to point, he'll come back to Goodison, there will be a mixed reaction, then we move on. His career will take him where he chooses - good luck & thanks for the goals lad - but getting bothered whether he really cared like we do? Get real.

I'll give him polite applause and leave it at that so long as he behaves himself
Arteta got the same until he was a burk in that Quarter Final to us
If everyone in the entire stadium agreed going in, I am up for that...No reaction at all would be the best reaction at all. Sends out that message of: 'Sorry Rom but you're just a insignificant little footnote in our history'
Maybe Everton fans should've gotten behind the lad better when he wasn't on form instead of booing and hurling abuse at him. As you say he is meant to be one of us.
Wont be rooting for him to play well mind you. Maybe mock cheer a couple mis-controlled passes. but a polite applause for providing about 60M in profit.....I will heckle his every touch and jeer his every miscontrol! Cracking finisher on his day. Stopped giving a toss about us along time ago. Threw away a cracking chance of winning cup in 2015. Downhill after you leave Everton!!!I support everton, not him!!!
Loved him when he first came but steadily went off him despite the goals. No problem with a guy who wants to move on after doing a decent job for us but all the talk about moving away has been disrespectful to all those little blues who idolised. Never once said we were doing well for him, just that he wanted CL. Not too much to say that but add that he was at a cracking club at the moment too.Wont be rooting for him to play well mind you.
