What kind of reception will you give Rom when he comes to the old lady with his new team

Good strong ambivalence from me lads. Unless he comes out and proper bad mouths us, or starts causing loads of issues before he actually leaves, I have no issue. We had him longer than I thought anyway. Seem to recall him not celebrating against WBA when he scored against them for us in his first or second season, reckon he'll do the same?

Can't wait to see him take on Ashley Williams.

He strikes me as the sort of guy who would be acutely affronted by abusive chants/comments from fans.

I don't go in for that sort of thing, but I understand why some blues might be inclined to give him some stick. Throughout his stint here he has treated us as if we were Marine AFC, a mere stepping stone to a big club.

Depends really, if it looks like he reacts poorly to any abuse he gets and it puts him off his game, then I'll be giving him dogs abuse. If it seems to be spur him on then I'll be keeping quiet.

He doesn't care, he can take it. He get booed from time to time during Belgium games by some of the own support. The only side-effect booing has is this (when he scores after being booed, which is often).:

Frustrating as hell at times but the best striker I have seen in the blue shirt. Shame he could not have given us a further year but deserves a good reception

Couldn't care less really. We're getting a lot of money for a player who hasn't wanted to be here for a long time, and hopefully that cash will be reinvested into the squad. In the mean time I'm just waiting for 18months down the line when he's on Belgium duty again saying how returning to Man Utd isn't an option and he wants to go to Madrid. Thanks for the goals Rom

What will be even more interesting will be how he reacts were he to score at Goodison, he never celebrated scoring at the Hawthorns, if he celebrated at GP especially with some inane dance with Pogba, he might need a police escort to get off the pitch.

I fear that you could be right.

I've long since given up actually caring about individual footballers - Lukaku was a great signing for us, did his job and we make millions off the back of that - hard to complain about loyalty. If he'd have been hopeless he would have been binned off - Niasse like - he wasn't so pointless us expecting loyalty when it doesn't really exist in professional sport at this elite level.

The top players are essentially individual self employed business entities offering their services to whichever franchise will provide the most lucrative financial contract. It's a short career and they will maximise earnings whenever they can if they are delivering the product. If you're not, the franchise will release you without hesitation to minimise any further loss.

I support my club and the eleven on the pitch chosen to represent us - they are privileged to wear that Royal Blue shirt - for many of them they won't realise u til too late how lucky they have been to do so. So, back to point, he'll come back to Goodison, there will be a mixed reaction, then we move on. His career will take him where he chooses - good luck & thanks for the goals lad - but getting bothered whether he really cared like we do? Get real.

TBF he's an ambitious kid with no tie to the club, 50% of his time here he has finished in the bottom half, which compared to players who've gone for similar fees (Suarez, Pogba, Bale, Ronaldo) makes that absolutely laughable.

I think we all know that Rom deserves better than EFC in its current incarnation, but I hope he doesn't dis us once he's left.
