I do however think it is rather unfortunate that an undeniably horrible assault has led you to tar an entire community with the same brush.

Indeed, the LGBTQ community aren't immune from being victims of sexual assault. It's a complex and challenging area with a lot of nuance which I don't think Kev's bait thread is the ideal place to delve into.

So presumably his wife left him because of the woke mob too? Is it possible, and I know this is hard to imagine, but is it possible that he became obsessed with the issue to the point that both his home and work life suffered (I don't know about you, but I know people far less prominent people that this has happened to) and he has simply faded into irrelevance like many before him in the industry? I have watched some of the Linehan clips that pop up on this forum from time to time and, to me, he looks like a pretty manic and unhinged man who is misdirecting the blame for his own issues.

There are a lot of assumptions there. I don't know when his wife left him. What I do know is that if people lose their living it creates massive degrees of stress that impact every element of their life. He also makes it clear that following the furore surrounding his Trans opinions being aired, people in the industry stopped taking his calls and listening to his ideas. That is as wrong as the posters being removed for Morrissey's album when he expressed right wing views and people decided to try to take away his living ( I am not a miffed fan by the way, he is generally dull for me) We are a democracy and if people are not expressing hate or racism but giving honest opinions around issues, however sensitive, they should be allowed to.

I am far from right wing and entirely supportive of peoples rights concerning sexuality, but these things are sometimes a debate as they present new issues. Farage and his crewmates pretend they support freedom, but we know this only applies to wealthy white people in their world. If they can show how people expressing honest views are attacked, be it sexuality or immigration, it gives them lots of ammunition to lie even more to the ordinary people of the country. It means that the 'Woke' become the enemy as opposed to the racist, misogynist, corrupt and greedy scum that masquerade as a political party (I include a number of Tories in this)

People fighting for decency should not forget to be decent to those whose views do not perfectly align with their own. Everyone has a view coloured by their own circumstances and background.

I really should have sent this to Starmer for his victory speech On that subject, his original lines on winning.....something like 'We move towards a sunlit future, pale at first' reminded me of Rick in The Young Ones. It made the hair on my arms stand up in hyper-cringe mode.
