What is up with Dele Alli?

One of those opinions is based on an assessment of what we have seen the player prove he can (or, more accurately, can't) do.

The other is blind hope.

It's a bit like those who insist the Earth is flat.

And there you go again.

Blind hope eh? Flat Earth? Why the need to make out that anyone who sees things differently to you is in some way retarded? Unnecessary, and actually rather puerile.

If you took YOUR blinkers off for a second, you might just realise that you're completely missing the point I'm making. I'm not saying he's the answer. Better qualified people than you and I will make that assessment. If in the end they think it's flogging a dead horse, then I'll take their word for it, rather than yours.

He played a few games, contributed versus Palace. I think it's a humane gesture from the club, I hope you never suffer like he has.
Agreed, it's to the club and managers credit how this has been handled. Those wanting some kind of ruthless sociopathic leadership in the hope of winning the carling cup one day genuinely worry me.

There's the crux though

He had lost pace in the what 11 appearances he made for Everton already. He's 28 and not 18 or 20 years old now

People on this forum cry out constantly for players with pace in this Everton side, yet people want to add a player who's lost his pace and has barely played in three years

It's baffling

Dumbledore would believe in him.

And the only baffling thing is why someone would choose to not believe someone can come back after a long lay off. Its a mentality thing, not an age thing.

People can choose to decide which they believe will happen. And i like to believe that maybe, just maybe, with the right people and support behind him, he could still do something.

He has set a goal of playing in another world cup, good for him.

If in the end he manages 1 substitute appearance for us and gets a deal at the end of it playing professionally, in any division, then i would made up for him and proud we helped him.

We have enough negativity surrounding the club, we don't need people who have never been in his situation telling him he cannot do what he has set his sights on because "stats".

I cannot believe you started with

Dumbledore would believe in him.

It is a physical thing

You can believe in faries all you want that doesn't make them real

I want him no where near the club

For the good of the club

Is he still training with us? I find no announcement about it quite odd. If he’s fit, he should be playing (for whichever side he signs for.
