What is the problem with this team?

The defence is absolutely woeful and needs replacing. We also need some pace in said defence. We must build from the back imo

Ok, I know that they're a bunch of lightweight sh*thouses with barely a sprint between them. I know we've got one of the worst centre back pairings in recent memory and I know that last summer saw us burn through money of some absolute disasters.

We know the obvious reasons but what is it that turns £300m worth of players in 11 crabs in possession? What is the reason for the lack of movement? I'm genuinely interested to know what everyone thinks is the reason for our total inability to create chances in the past year?
What's right with them

Enough of them with mercenary attitudes and a lack of professional pride to drag down those with desire. The older ones are jealous of the younger ones, like a childish alpha male struggle the bad whiffs.

as much as i didn't like him, were we too hasty in sacking Koeman in the Autumn? He only had one full season and got us 7th, plus that big win vs City. He at least had more Prem pedigree than Silva in getting Saints to 6th twice-in-a-row.

I believe Koeman would have sorted it eventually. Think it certainly wouldn't have been as bad as the Unsworth and Fat Sam fiasco.

That Capt Jags , a man with acute loser mentality, is STILL club captain, tells everything you need to know about dysfunctionality at EFC. Blue Bill’s BS ‘family club’ mentality only adds to the cuckoo’s nest nature of the place.

Shocked here.

When we attack and pushed up to halfway line, I'm more worried about when we lose the ball, it only takes one ball over the top to create a chance.

There’s probably about 2 people at the club that actually care about Everton. The rest could not give one and are just bleeding us dry.

Reading through this thread, I find ONE positive:

Everybody has realised that it really is not down to the manager and is in fact the players.

We have had four managers trying to get this group of players to work; and they’ve all failed to do so. The players are not accountable for their poor performances.

This season, as a fan base, let’s unite behind the men in charge (Silva and Brands) then hold those on the pitch accountable when they’re not putting a shift in. It just might see a shift in mentality.

Average players who are severely lacking in confidence, recipe for disaster. The manager will earn his corn with this lot.
