This thread about a riot outside a hotel in Kirby, has suddenly arrived at black on black crime in the USA and "why does everything have to be about race and BLM?!?"

Entirely introduced into the thread by @ForeverBlue92 who has "no dog in the fight" about race and culture wars.

Who even said the people who keep bringing up race are the racists.

Since that statement he has brought up race 467 times.

But, I'll ask again, why is an unarmed black person eight times more likely to be killed by the police than a white person? Eight times. That's not a mistake.

Nor is it an assumption, but rather it's a bona fide mathematical fact. The only logical assumption is that race is a deciding factor.

I dont know without looking at each actual case individually and on their own merits.

One thing I will say is in a few incidents I've seen via body cam footage many of suspects that end up getting shot for some reason resist arrest and make a run for it / try grab an officers taser / put their hands down to the glove compartment etc then the officer fires.

So again im not disputing any figures you have but figures alone dont tell the full story I would like to see the actual body cam footage of any police shooting.

I imagine very few incidents escalate to that point if a person being stopped by police just simply comply with the officers orders. You then have the cases that are clear cut where the police officers are completely to blame such as the one recently.

I dont think they are pro minority as such or pro feminism or pro trans etc but they use these hot topics that generate fierce debate to play groups off against one another to make £££.

You only have to keep scanning the headlines , and I fear there may be another tonight , to see what the rabid demonisation of sections of society results in .

It feels so obvious and it stuns me that so many can’t see it but there you are . it suits those in power be it political or otherwise to continually keep the rest of society looking away from the real causes of their problems and concentrating on the absolute poison they’re spoonfed by a client media .
