What if Liverpool won the title?

Its at times like these that my decision to move to the states a couple of years ago, was a very wise choice.

Those weekend results for the top three: horrible as they were it feels like a weight being lifted off now that Liverpool are at the top. It's been coming for a couple of months and it felt like running in quick sand as others trying to get away from them.

Well, they are there now and I'll fume and go into meltdown if they win it, but I'm getting used to the idea.

Also, they're in the open now. They're there as a major scalp for the strugglers on the run in, and City and Chelsea are a couple of teams I wouldn't like to try and hold off (or have to face, regardless if they're the visitors or not).

Everyone has them crowned - quite rightly on recent evidence and form. As the old saying goes though: there's many a slip twixt cup and lip. Six nerve janglers for them coming right up.

And 35million snip Old boy Andy Carrol up next to prove a point

I have already resigned myself to them winning it. The only positive I can take, and I am struggling, is that we could land the title soon too. We have some outstanding young talent in Coleman, Barkley and Stones but more importantly a manager with a real plan for the club who does not talk us down against anyone. That is one thing rogers does over the park. He has spoke of them as the biggest and best since arriving and for some daft reason they believe him. Martinez is doing the same, only Roberto is correct. There genuinely is no greater club than Everton FC.

Massive shot in the dark that like

Liverpool have spent 100m in the last two seasons under Rodgers to mount a serious challenge this season plus the money spent on the likes of Suarez/Johnston/Agger ect before him, Add to that no European football and three massive clubs changing there managers in one go its hard to see us ever getting that close any time soon

The worst thing is that I'd back Liverpool in those nervous encounters more than I would City who are embarrassingly weak in the mental department. If there's one team to bottle it, it's them.

Mourinho seems to have persuaded his Chelsea team they can't win it either. Doesn't look good.

Fully agree regarding our spending power. But we do have a number of very exciting players and a manager who I honestly think has a long term plan. It isn't always about throwing money at players, more creating the right blend with a game structure.

We have absolutely no chance of winning this league. None whatsoever.

The two major differences between Martinez and Rodgers is that the sharkfaced no mark gobshite would never be able to operate to any degree on a negative net budget and he'd never be forced to sell developing talent.

Martinez has both hands and both feet tied in terms of putting a title winning squad together.

I've said it for years: we'll win nothing while Kenwright and his fellow gangsters haunt this football club. Nothing.

just seen another whopper from a kopite: "I would simply love winning the BPL, only if it was for seeing Gerrard lift that cup he's been chasing ever since his debut."

Disagree mate

Look at the teams that have won the Premier League since its formation in 92

Utd
Chelsea
Blackburn
City
Arsenal

They all have one thing in common, They have spent a fortune on players, Whether that be short term or long term

The top 4 is dominated by the teams with the most money, Just a fact

The thing about them spending a shed load of money does not relate to Rodgers though

Compered to City/Chelsea he has spent very little assembling there squad

Have to say the Kopites I know and there's a lot are all top lads

Its people who no Kopites like the ones on RAWK I feel sorry for
*raises hand*

Mourinho and Chelsea have sickened me this past few weeks. They waltzed into Villa Park and Selhurst Park like they just had to turn up. In this league that will get you not three points but a well earned snotting.

Mourinho also needed to buy a striker in the January window. They will in the summer when it's too late. Mr Ego basically blew a hole in the side of his own ship. The nobhead.

As for Liverpool: let's see if they get a defeat and how they react to it. This could get interesting yet. They are going to be crowned champions this week by the media...it's happening already. They won it today apparently. Race over. Imagine they get held at West Ham or beaten by City?
