I get it, it wasn't too long ago I'd say the same but, yes, my well-being now demands it. Still get lazy and cheat (the crema, for instance) because I don't look up vegan/homemade alternatives and just default to moderation because, after 50 years, I have it in my head they don't/won't exist. Ordered a CKD recipe book today...old dog is actively learning new tricks.

My wife, in a burst of enthusiasm, brought home enough eggs to supply a small hotel. Dutifully, I rose to the challenge: scrambled, poached, fried, boiled... no yolk left behind.

Now my guts churn like a cauldron, and the house is thick with a stench so rich and eggy it clings to the curtains. The air tastes wrong.

Eggs: delicious going in, treacherous on the way out.
