Honestly, it's delicious. There's other variants as well : jam, lemon curd, fruit (apple, rhubarb etc.), I saw a variant with butterscotch, might try marmalade next time as I have loads of jars. I usually use hard block margarine as butter is so expensive nowadays, but in certain things you can't beat it, this is one of them. I got about 16 slices, very moreish.
