This is full of really HEAVY riffs. There's some beautiful stuff on here, but after the forays into electronica (which I liked btw), this is a FULL ON ROCK ALBUM.

First impressions is that the first half of the album is certainly great the second part didn't stand out so much on the first listen, that said I could certainly see this being one of my favourite albums of 2012 with a few more listens.

It'll have competition though with new Animal Collective, XX, Mountain Goats, Titus Andronicus, Woods and a new Death Grips album all on their way.

Musically the last few months of 2012 should be outstanding.

Based on limited play time, I would say the new Bloc Party album is great, however VALIS is painfully average and the album lulls a little around it. This will probably be my favourite of theirs though, as I love it when they rock out more, as the slower tracks are hit and miss for me.
