The best part is saying things like "I listened to them before they were cool", when 99% of the population doesn't even know who they are, let alone think they are "cool". That's hipster nirvana

It's hard to express how much I loved these guys, and this album is probably the pinnacle (although the first 2 records "Manic Pop Thrill" and "Babble" are just as good but not as "glossy").

Formed from the ashes of the legendary Northern Irish punk band The Undertones, That Petrol Emotion were the synthesis of everything I really loved about 80's underground rock. Oft times ultra-political lyrics, twin fueled guitars (many times both playing leads at the same time - two completely different melodies miraculously melding into one adrenaline rush), pounding rythyms. Very, very important band in Jdawg's musical life and education.
