I actually feel a bit sorry for the West Ham fans. The entire soul has been ripped out of their club, the West Ham that they grew up supporting barely exists anymore. That must be gut wrenching.

I Know what you mean. Must be terrible.

But the inner football fan part of me cant help but laugh.

I can't feel the slightest bit sorry for a club boasting some of the worst English football hooligans we've ever seen and that's run by some of the worst business minds in the country.
I'd rather waste my sympathy on Karius.

It’s alright though because they’ve done the best business in the league and have a former title winning manager to step in and fill the void.

I recall Everton giving a warm PL welcome to the Wolf’s Winkle, and Everton helping Soldado feel good about himself, and Everton gifting Crouch his 100th PL goal, and Everton....etc etc

West Ham should be looking forward to playing Everton. There is nothing more certain in this universe, than us giving them a hand up in gifting them at least 1 point... but probably 3

Everton that.

LOL.

Manuel Pellegrini due £15m if sacked after West Ham fail to add contract clause

West Ham made Pellegrini one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League with a salary of £5 million.

West Ham United will face a compensation bill of almost £15 million should they sack Manuel Pellegrini as a result of their woeful start to the season.

The Times understands that the club failed to insert a termination clause in Pellegrini’s contract when they recruited him from Hebei China Fortune in the summer, so the manager would be entitled to have his contract paid up in full unless both parties agree a severance package.

West Ham abandoned their recent policy of financial restraint when pursuing Pellegrini, agreeing to make him one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League with a salary of £5 million that could reach £7 million if certain performance targets are met. The club backed him heavily in the transfer market, spending £98 million on new players as well as giving a three-year contract worth £15 million to Jack Wilshere, who signed from Arsenal on free transfer.

West Ham are determined to give Pellegrini time to turn things around — not least because of the cost of dismissing him — after a dismal start in which they have lost their first four league matches, but he will come under increased pressure if they continue to struggle in a daunting run of Premier League fixtures after the international break.

They return on September 16 with a trip to Everton before back-to-back games at the London Stadium against Chelsea and Manchester United.

West Ham’s owners have often stood by underperforming managers but may have little option but to act if the team continue to struggle. Slaven Bilic was sacked last November after a poor run of results, with the club paying him £2 million in compensation and replacing him with David Moyes.

West Ham’s financial extravagance with Pellegrini contrasts with their treatment of Moyes, who was only given a contract until the end of last season so did not get a payoff when he left. Moyes was also limited to signing the forward Jordan Hugill from Preston North End in January.

Pellegrini has returned to his native Chile for the international break, even though just four first-team players — Marko Arnautovic, Lukasz Fabianski, Robert Snodgrass and Andriy Yarmolenko — are away with their countries.
