If we win our next league game, we'll have accumulated a total of 7 points from our first 3 games. I don't need to tell you that if we draw, we will get 1 point (meaning a total of 5 points after 3 games) or that if we lose, we get 0 points, leaving us on 4 points after 3 games. I'd happily see us on 7 points after 3 games at this stage.

and next week, the offside rule, all you need to know to understand how it works......

Brilliant second half. Few points. I'd say Williams and Kone (Possibly) in for Funes Mori. Has moments where he defends well but makes me nervous. Lukaku's chance shows why people won't pay top dollar for him Gueye great again. Stekelenburg saves came at vital moments. Solid. Mirallas looks like a new player. Thought Deulofeu struggled to get going. Baines isn't as good as he was. Bolasie was great when he came on, direct and always looking to work the channels. And Mason Holgate! At the minute he's proving to be a great prospect. Good to see the manager take the initiative and make changes at the right times. Onwards we go, looking forward to what is a comfortable run on paper
Lukaku did right with his chance and Foster made a great save with his off-hand

Baines isn't 2014 Baines but fk aside played well today (for example of terrible left backing, read: Funds Mori)

Great first win of the season. Great subbing and not waiting for the 60 min mark (remember)

Need now to remove another bit of RM legacy - McCarthy. Also looking at the bench. Oviedo and Clev there just shows we need a couple more bodies to make the squad more like.
McCarthy looked out of place in that team, and I don't just mean his position. He is so, Everton 2013-14. We are clearly moving up to the next level, so yes, he and a couple of others have their days in the first XI numbered.

He did, but if Galloway was there instead (with Bolasie in front of him) you would have the same absurd pace on that side as Holgate / Mirallas provided on the right today. With Barkley and Rom (or Deulofeu and Rom) up front as well, not many teams would be able to cope with it.

All this maths is doing my head in! All I know is, I want us to always win, and nothing else. Makes the equation so much easier to solve!

In many ways Bolaise was the antithesis of the 2015/16 Everton - looked to go forward, not knocked off a ball easily and actually creating clear cut chances.
