We're in the money

As fans , should we possibly say ' let's take a step back ' in order to move forward ?
Would it be better in the long term for the club to actually sell Lescott and pay off some debts ?
Would Kenwright actually consider doing this ?

I certainly have my own opinion on this as a fan , but what about yourselves ?

I think our wage bill is something like £46m, I could be very wrong.

So , didn't we get two lots of 120 million , or some such ??? That , plus Gates , Plus T.V. , Sponsors / Corporate etc . Still seems to be some Culinary canoodling with the books to me .
We can't raise £13 million without going cap in hand to some finance gaff ???
It's wrong . Just plain wrong .

chelsea got the money in 2003 and went wild and we hated them for that

Man city got money in 2008 and we hate them already

IF WE GET THE MONEY(DUNNO WHEN THAT CAN EVER HAPPEN) I DON'T THINK THERE'S A SINGLE PERSON WHO CAN SAY THAT WE DON'T DESERVE IT, I WONT CARE IF MOYES GOES WILD OR WHATEVER BUT WE ARE THE ONLY TEAM IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ATM WHO DESERVES SOME FINANCIAL SUPPORT.

sorry if its irrelevant of the thread

wether i like it or not , i think we are at that stage where it is our only safe option........

sell 3 players for 50+ million..... buy 3-4 players for 25 million (put 25 million away.

next season sell 3 players for 50+ million ..... buy 3-4 players for 25 million (put 25 million away)

with 50 million in the bank to service debts , our income is then ours not the banks.then we can start to progress on and off the pitch the way moyes wants without ever worsening financial restraints.

if for example ..... in hindsite.......we sold jags arteta and yak last summer ..... it could be said that we may have had still finished 5th.
we would have had millions in the bank and those 3 players would have been replaced with new 3 cheaper players (perhaps it could be said that we could have done better than 5th with these new players added)

ps ....dont beat me up - its just a theory and method for us to debate

Moyes driving around in a fire engine red Bentley throwing money out the window inbetween signing the cream of world football. Sounds good to me. The 'we're poor but honest', 'incremental progress' lot have had their day. It doesn't work.

the thing with chelsea and man city (not so much liverpool , utd , arsenal) is that it all looks good now , but what about when the owners get bored in years to come ? they will never recoup what they have payed out.

they will have huge debts and nobody will want to touch them financially. they will cease to excist, im positive of that.

Anyone watch MOTD 2 last night? Citeh fans on their wanting top 4, or the title (maybe said in jest but you dont know), and one bird who said Citeh deserve success....

Almost made me throw up into my cornflakes...

yeah well we can see this year that chelsea are having an effect of their massive shopping over the years but that is only after 5 years. In the meantime they have build their squad enough that even if they don't spend for a year or 2 they'll be okay and i cant see any reason why city owners would sell them anytime soon. They've gotten so famous and if they get in the top 4 in this season or the next the owner would have made enough profit.

I dream when im in my 30's i can tell my little ones that everton is the team which is based on hardwork and struggle and now god has rewarded them of their efforts. What was so impressive in cuty anyways that the arabs bought it???? fancy stadium i guess?

Weren't we in a very lucrative position during the 60's ?
It would be nice to have large investment again , especially now that the game is bought and sold by the big money men , but not sure I'm all for the idea of selling up , getting a new ground , new players , and new manager etc etc .
The heart and soul of the club will always be the fans , but having £30 mill a season to spend would be nice .
