We're chit, and we're going down - but why does nobody in the media think so?

To be fair, our form suggests we will beat teams below us in the league at home.

I think we will continue to do that and thus earn enough points for safety.

On the other hand we don't beat the teams above us, nor do we do much away from home.

Plucky Old Everton , will finish about 12th with 45 points after Allardyce came and saved us from relegation.

That’s the story they want and the story they’ll get.

Not having a go at you mate, but irritates me this. The old ‘media hate us’ chip on the shoulder nonsense.
The editor of BBC sport (an Evertonian) tweeted that Allardyce was in ‘huge trouble’. The host of MOTD (former Everton striker) tells us that ‘Everton fans are frustrated’. The Newspapers yesterday were reporting that Allardyce’s job was under threat and we were considering appointing Fonseca..

There is no media conspiracy against Everton.

I remember this song being sung quite often during our terrible years in the 90s, with but "you're" instead of "we're", and another word instead of "chit".

I genuinely don't get how literally all of those in the media are talking as if we're safe and will be in the Premier League next season. Have they not seen our form? Do they not see we only realistically have three games left we can win this season? Forget all away games and forget City and Liverpool at home, our only winnable games now are Brighton, Newcastle and Southampton at home. We're quickly being sucked into the relegation mix and seemingly everybody in the media is oblivious to it?

Why?

What’s worse.....many of our friends on here are oblivious to this lurking danger as well.

Now, I reckon 38 points will seal the deal but blimey.....am I relaxed about the prospect of us taking the necessary four points from those three home games?

Not on yer nelly

I think we will limp over the line all right.....but there is no room for complacency.

Next week against Brighton is IMO one of the most important games we have played in years.

If we fail to win that, the alarm bells will be ringing very loudly.

Not even in danger of going down but we never were. Even at our worst under Koeman or Unsworth because Everton will always best the dross at goodison.

Brighton will be dispatched next week and some might be happy. I won't be. Not while that horrendous fraud is managing us.

Spot on mate, we are like an ugly teen sitting in his bedroom in the dark crying that its the whole worlds fault he cant get a girlfriend. There are obviously pundits who dont like us (alan Smith seems to begrudge saying anything good about us) but the vast majority don’t, they just say what they see in front of them. For example.....

1) The fans are unhappy - tick.
2) funds have been spent badly - tick.
3) we have no shape - tick.
4) our players are showing neither guile nor fight - tick.

All the pundits i listen to, including all the ex-reds (most of whom were Evertonians in their youth) speak plainly about how awful we are. Not because there is a red agenda, but because we are in fact awful!

You aren’t getting relegated imo. Will probably finish 9th or so which considering your position when Koeman left isn’t the worst. Martinez finished lower iirc?
