I suppose that would been they have respect, whereas clearly no one dud with dyche
My way or the high way is a thing. Ferguson turned up at man utd with Aberdeen on his cv. Obviously the 80's is a very different time to now.
[note: I hadn't realised Ferguson retired immediately from playing into management. Finished at Ayr in 74 and was managing St Mirren that same year][Old Trafford held 56.5k in 1986]
Made a point earlier in the season about any side can be pretty woeful but goals cover a lot of sins.
I suppose the times and player attitudes are very different now, the hard drinking lout about town is gone, but relics from that era exist. It's more science than social now.
The next era of coaches/managers is going to be an interesting one. I wonder if the modern era could produce a 'Crazy gang' like that Wimbledon outfit.
Has the fun and the character been 'professionalised*' out of the game? Can managers still manage when players are judged on tiktok followers and facebook likes. dyche always was out of his depth, funny how his backers are always happy to pounce on perceived offense from Moyes re 'talking the club down' and 'reigning in expectation' yet go strangely quiet when big seanny starts piping off about how great he is and other such punchlines.
I suppose no one likes their hypocrisy being spoon fed back to them. Keeps the laughs up though...
