I can understand why neutrals seem perplexed, 78% think it was a bad decision on BBC (poll is half way down the page here).

He joined with them in chaos, identity crisis in playing style - Nuno sacked, then Ange after this;

His remit was keep them up;

... he'd have done so.

But, I understand the sacking. There was never a chance he was surviving beyond this summer and I've long shared a view that you can't allow a very obviously interim manager to manage a relegation fight.

They'll be hoping new manager bounce can box them off quickly, and maybe win the Europa, with this type of new manager novelty;

*waits.

There is a chance a lot of people at the club just found him extremely irritating, which is where I stand on him

Got to admit, I was surprised by that win percentage graphic when I saw it this morning.

At a gut level, I think Evertonians (very much including myself) are conflating the crap football we endured with his performance at Forest - and there's a big dollop of schadenfreude to help it down.

Marinakis being so trigger happy meant that we've been expecting it, too.

It seems like the players had enough of his draconian training methods, especially if its true they were going into games already knackered.

We were fortunate that our squad bought into his approach and could string together three- or four-game wins between the rough patches. He managed to galvanise our group at the time, but he hasn’t been able to do the same at Forest.

I can imagine once you turn on his language, mannerism etc there isn't really much of a way back and a lot must have done that pretty early
