Not that first season. Leicester were not a bad team, neither were Leeds.
Yeah, the revisionism in this thread is all over the place from both sides.

He scored the goals and made the saves that kept us up, eh? I thought it was the players who finally found their pride and their form -- form that clearly was enough to easily stay up the following season despite deductions. That and the fact there were three teams both seasons who were absolute garbage, far worse than us. You and the orange one bang on about how he was some sort of carthorse whisperer when in reality we survived in spite of him, not because of him. As the last year and recent results have proved.
To be fair, dyche said "the runs still not really on paper, a bad run if you add wins in..."I’m defending his record at Everton given how it’s contributed to the current situation. Some people just want an echo chamber then get bothered when the alternative is put forward.
You are clearly amongst the ranks still bothered by him.
tbf, it took till our fifth league game to register a point. got our first win against palace on 28th September. (league). He only took over in October and has had 11 games and amassed 10 points(I think).
Maintaining his career average of 1 point per game.
Fine margins, hard yards, not a miracle worker, soft goals… Looking at the demeanour of some of these Forest players, it really hasn’t taken them very long to look like shells of the players they were. I wonder if any of them will send a good luck message to Seany after the blubbery mess and buffet-danger in charge, gets rid…
And if Leicester had played even close to their true level, we would have been down. So us staying up was nowt to do with the ginger fraud. Their players didn't do the job, ours did -- barely. The same players who managed the equivalent of 48 points the following season. This is literally an argument to invalidate the position of football manager in its entirety. We’d been in a relegation battle the season before under Lampard with better players. Let’s not pretend the players were good. That Leicester team also were not garbage, KDH was a squad player for them and is now one of our best players.

The only salient fact that matters.
His job was to hand us over to new owners as a PL club. He did that.
