It happened with Allardyce once he failed at Leeds he was finishedIf he takes Forest down (and I don't think he will, West Ham look toast to me) his entire mystique and gimmick will be gone.

In fairness he kept Burnley alive for about 9 years or so, did a decent job for us but Frank was so bad at that point a do the basics manager was going to look better than he is. Forest is an absolute gimme of a so called survival job, the aussie is one of the worst prem managers of all time and I reckon Dave Bassett could keep this forest squad up after throwing the bogans nonsense out the window. He’s the very last of the “survival specialists” myth that has otherwise completely died out, and that is solely because we were in such a blind panic post-Lampard. Because we stayed up with him in charge (I don’t believe we stayed up because of him but that’s another post entirely), he got another crack with Forest.
They’ll also stay up with him in charge - in spite of him, one might say - but I don’t see him being there next season, and defo we won’t see him in the Prem again.
Teams have seen what can be achieved with appointments with more than just the end of the season in mind. Emery at Villa, Nuno at Forest themselves, and Howe at Newcastle have shown that Allardyce, Dyche, et al are (or should be) a thing of the past.
It's partly because he soured his relationship by saying to the new owners he couldn't take the team any further and then refusing to resign. If he'd said he was mentally exhausted, resigned and then taken a break before taking the Forest job I'd have had a lot more respect for himWe only play in the PL because of Dyche.
I think that's why - even when his ghost has been laid to rest at Everton now - loads of posters on here continue to be still obsessed with him. They cant get over that basic fact that all other Everton supporters recognise.
It's a ridiculous situation. Why not just acknowledge that there are very few managers that could have handled the pressure of the points deduction season, when the PL and media were intent on destroying us, and that Dyche was one of them and he got us to safety.
It's as simple as that. Do that and all the mithering ends for you. Seems easy enough to me.

He just lost twice against the team he managed.Put another way: he denied his detractors the right to say he cut and run or was mentally weak. He framed his departure in such a way as he retained credibility and his status among most right minded Evertonians that he did a very good job under extremely challenging circumstances.
