I know it’s maybe because it’s recent, but we’ve had managers who’ve had way better squads and performed worse than Dyche, that’s not opinion it’s fact. Martinez and Ancelotti finishing 11th with the squads they had was way worse than what Dyche did, that’s not even mentioning the sale of the club hanging over his head and points deductions.

To be fair to Ancelotti, he got 59 points when he finished 10th which is our 9th best points total. His first 11 when fit were good (such as the first part of the season when we were flying) but when injuries hit, it wasn’t exactly quality depth when you are calling on the likes of holgate, Davies, Godfrey, Keane and Delph.

Martinez getting 47 points 2 years on the spin with the likes Lukaku, Barkley, Delofeu, stones etc is appalling.

You also have to consider what we think of managers and how we’d rate them, Ancelotti would be considered elite, pretty certain we’d consider Dyche a few tiers below that, even before he managed us.
