We could finish anywhere from 7th - 18th: Europa a no-no?

We should definitely want it. The only way you are getting better players is with the promise of regular european football. If we make the europa league multiple seasons in a row it gives a boost to attempting to get transfers through for higher quality players at better prices.

We should always aim for Europe.

The soonest opportunity we have to show that we are not as bad as the shambles we were this season, to a wider European audience, the better.

Manchester United says hello.
Fulham says hello

2 teams since the competition took on the current format in 2009-10 season. Also Manchester United has a ridiculously strong squad and Mourinho as manager and Fulham didn’t actually win it and finished 12th in the league that season.

All I am saying is that I would rather win the fa cup or league cup than be in the Europa league

The EL can be hit and miss
If CL qualifying groups go as expected and no big teams drop out of the group stages to the EL then normally what’s left is teams that are at our level or slightly above.
It’s the Thurs Sun thing that gets most teams
How a well balanced well thought out squad ( which I’m the first to admit we dont have ) can go far in the EL
Next 4/5 seasons it’s our only semi realistic hope of CL

Europa League minimum every season should be the expectation for this club, hopefully the Mahrez fiasco takes its toll on Leicester and Burnley hit the beach once they get 40 points. Even without that we should be getting EL anyway.

One thing I will say is if we get Europa we have to give Sam next season, after the releagtion scare we had to turn it around so much he will deserve another season

Booooo! He'd take his pay off and live off the injustice of being given the boot forever more. It's a win-win situation.

Chelsea won it, Liverpool got to the final. England is the 2nd most successful nation in recent years.

We would begin the europa season only the Thursday before the season starts, the equivalent of the split game so it shouldn’t effect the pre season at all if we qualify

So despite everybody fully aware that we'll take all summer to get our players in, maybe not even the ones we even desperately need, they still want us starting pre season super early and ruin our domestic season by playing twice a week with a load of new players who don't know each other or what each other's strengths are? Madness. Give me one steady one game a week season first and see if we're good enough to challenge for CL.

That said if we do finish seventh and get Europa I'll happily take it
