Everton striker Wayne Rooney is reportedly in advanced talks to join Major League Soccer side D.C. United this summer.

The 32-year-old is said to have become frustrated at Goodison Park and negotiations have "accelerated in recent weeks," according to Steven Goffat the Washington Post.

Would be best for both parties, which there will be plenty of in the US

He’s had some good moments back in blue and Im sure for his young family it meant a lot to have them see him play for us again. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s realised he’s simply not up to the pace of it all now. This would be the best move for all.

Yes some good moments and not the sort of player who wants to be on the bench or a bit part player .move to the MLS would suit both parties and hopefully a fresh start for us and Wayne

I don’t understand why people suggest the MLS when the one thing that league has going for it is athleticism. He should move to Italy.
