lol at the idea of Rooney's presence attracting other players.
Well it’s got more weight than the Everton or Allardyce name lets be honest

We are smalltime and a finished Rooney is basically the best lure we have.

Toe curling I know, but true.

Rooney is legitimately the least of our worries when we have players like Williams etc stinking up the place

Well he's our top scorer for one in a team that bought loads of goals in the summer and returned barely any throughout the season.

After a [Poor language removed] season I don't see how selling our top scorer who we got on a free will help. His struggles have only come under allardyce tbf, he had a good record when koeman was here.

It makes you wonder how on earth we managed to survive without Rooney, doesnt it?

Hopefully we can keep him on for another 10 years so that his presence will attract all the top talent, and we don't go back to being the complete non-entity that we were before he graced us with his glorious return.

Whether you like it or not we have been a non entity that specialises in mediocrity for a long time.
Our best player imo (Walcott) said he joined because of Rooney.

Yeah, and his wages had nowt do with it at all. He chose Everton just to experience the privilege of playing with a fat and knackered Wayne Rooney.

We've been attracting big name players for absolute donkeys mate. It's got nowt to do with Wayne Rooney, and everything to do with the fact that Everton have been one of the richest clubs in England since as long as anyone can remember.

The idea of Rooney attracting players is hilarious. He's a washed up version of himself. The only ones who still hold him in any esteem are national journalists who don't watch us. Certainly no players.

Wages and fees are what matters. Not some ageing has-been. Of course until Moshiri actually employs competent people to inform our transfer strategy nothing else matters. We’ll continue overpaying for overrated dross in our attempts to cement the “Merseyside powershift” and our assault on the top 4.

45 million for Sigurdsson vs 38 million for Salah tells you all you need to know. As does resigning Rooney in the first place actually.

I personally think he will give us 6-8months before he just breaks down, thats if he remains fit for those 6-8 months.
