Rooney is fine taking pens for me, if not Rooney then it should be Baines....

To be fair though mate he keeps missing them , he’s turned a couple of rebounds in but with a bit of bad luck the stats could easily be a lot worse .

I can see the pressure for tosun on Saturday like. 2 goals in 2 games including one in that match. At home against a poor side a man up and 2 goals up. Would have propa sh1t himself if he stepped up for that pen like

Pens aren't about how well you hit them, Yakubu scored plenty and never hit one as hard and as close to the corner as Rooney's on Saturday. It's all mind games and disguise. Baines doesn't really do blatant disguise so much but never gives away where he's putting it.

True, but I suspect the reason the keeper may have saved it is both that Rooney goes for that spot frequently, and telegraphs it to the keeper when he does.

Hitting a penalty is not just about location, its about keeping the keeper guessing. Thats why you cant tell from a handful of penalties, but as many as Rooney have had bear out his lack of ability.
