Wayne's penalty stats show one thing very clearly. He shouldn't be taking penalties.
He fails to score around one in every three. The reason he continues to take them is his status. He's so powerful at the club no one is going to stop him in Baines absence and even Baines return might not.
It was the same for a while with Lukaku. No one was strong enough to stop him despite his stats being poor and it eventually cost us in a cup semi final.

How many he misses this season like 3? Rooney has got to let the best penalty taker to do his job. And Baines must voice out and takes it himself. Rooney is like Lukaku who always want to add goals but both are no gd at taking pen.

Agreed. But he just can't do it against the better teams. Still technically brilliant but just not dynamic enough for a central midfield position.
I thought Brighton gave him way too much time.
