Spurs came for him because he was playing really well and as his contract was running down they could get him for buttons mate, classic levey transfer tactics.

He was playing very well but his best period was after he returned, as was Baines best period for the club also which is no coincidence.

Lol ok mate, Rooney could end up a bust, you never can know for sure, right now though as long as it doesn't hamstring us in other areas in bringing in players, then it's a very minor risk, he flops then as Kidman has shown there's no sentiment and the USA would beckon.

I think that transfer was just as much about the fact Levy became obsessed with trying to destabilize us as a threat, to the point he was just buying up players we had scouted just so we couldn't have them, rather than what they would actually bring to Spurs.

Kyle Walker was just a happy accident for them IMO.
