As do I. And none of it bothers me about him in the slightest.
Just reckon it's weird when people try and paint him as the world biggest bluenose, to justify signing a complete and utter spent-force at this level.
From a 100% football perspective, there are so, so many better options out there than Rooney.
People who sensibly point out he's an evertonian, do so for one of two reasons - as a direct response for those calling him 'not an evertonian', Judas or whatnot, or as an opinion that returning to us would see him find a desire that's been missing at United for a whilst - thus we'd get a superior player to what you see for them.
Unless you have the best player in the world playing for you in every position - then yes there is always a better option out there.
Do t think many would be sticking Rooney at the top of their wish lists mate, but as someone we could sign, who even though not the player he was - is still regarded highly in the game, who has certain qualities and the type of mentality we seriously have lacked for years, then yeah I'd prefer him over signing some some highly rated young player none of us have ever seen but whose the latest flavour of the month.
Off the pitch, it'd be a massive story, would spread the name of the club far more than any other realistic signing could do, and in the short term would improve us on and off the pitch, financially and in performance.
