well reading through the pages of this thread has just taken ten mins- that i'll never get back. And i'm still none the wiser about what the flying [Poor language removed] you're on about!

Where to start with this thread ive a good mind to close it and infract most for language, off topic and being the referee, cool it lads will you - in house lynching isnt cool and we wont have it on here it turns people of in a major way.

Anything that needs to happen we will do it.

On Topic: Will you!

For the cost of Rooney,we could have been at the Kings Dock, that would have put us on a footing to compete with the "big" boys.

Howard
Neville jags Heitinga Baines
Gibson Rodwell
Naismith fellaini pienaar
Jelavic

Vs

Mucha
Hibbert Duffy Distin Garbutt
Jnr Barkley
Coleman Osman guaye
Victor

Who win??

I'm on topic yeah? Had tot take a guess as I have no idea what this thread is about!?!?

I'm sure others may respond in more detail, but I really think you're aiming your ire at the wrong person.

Wayne Rooney was merely an asset that was sold. The reason for his sale was not entirely of Wayne Rooney's making, and with a more affluent owner and tougher negotiator as chairman, not to mention a club with more upward mobility than we had at the time, he wouldn't have been sold.

Rooney wanted to move and forced his way out. It didnt matter if we wanted to sell him or not, he wanted to go.

Our first team is better then our reserve team, which isn't really surprising. It's pleasingly close, but Naismith will school garbutt, Pienaar will detroy Hibbert, Vellios will sit on the bench in utter despair as vic repeatedly falls over in front of goal and Fellaini and Gibson will outmuscle an opposing midfield of average height 3 foot 2.

Rooney saved this club not just his transfer fee but the entire magic of his evertonian pedigree.

If supporters could have manufactured a saviour it would be a streetwise scally striding off the Gwladys st challenging all comers, his "once a blue always a blue" was evolution of "WHAT'S OUR NAME?", Dixie's 60 goals, 3-2 in '66, Bayern at Goodison. He was more than a great player he was an embodiment of being a scouser who knew the greatest club in the world - is this one.

The tragedy was everything about our management was smaller than him, once he fell out with Moyes the door was open for his grabbing agent to drive the wedge, if Big Joe had been in charge it would have been different.

No he wasn't a bad thing, he just showed where this club was going under Kenwright and Moyes.

Baxter the new Rooney
Anichebe the new Rooney
Rodwell the new Rooney
Barkley the new Rooney

Anyone see a pattern? The hype surrounding Everton youth players that make it to the edge of the first team is unbelievable, the fans call for them to be played and when they arent its a management or club issue because of some paranoid delusion. "If they are good enough they are old enough" - "didnt harm Rooney". Because he came through like he did the expectation on all those thereafter has been unachievable. I cant see that situation benefiting any youth prospect. Ever.

I don't think anyone has ever called Anichebe the new Rooney.
