You can get an adapter for most G Shocks that'll take a NATO strap. Does make them more comfortable and you can try different colours.

I’m a chunky watch lover, so I have a few G-Shocks in the collection. Easy to understand why they’re not for everyone though. I’m a great big fat person, so perhaps I feel like they are more in proportion.I think for me personally it was the aesthetic of it. It just looked and felt huge on my wrist which I found weird. No doubt the watches are fantastic though, just too chunky for me so I settled on my boring Garmin solar. As you can tell, I’m no watch enthusiast
Same for me. I have big wrists. Anything under 42-44mm looks daft on me. I have a lot of watches in the 45mm size. One 50mm and that is big. and heavy!!. The missus bought me it ages a go a Nixon 45-30. I wasn't too keen but its nice enough. Similar to this..
