Indeed, it was farcical.
The Street End terracing alone held 12,000 in those days. Looking at this particular video you'd have to say it was at least three quarters full (ie c 9,000). Can't believe there were only 7,000 in all other parts of the ground.

I do remember those games too (one against Feyenoord in the UEFA cup was especially egregious. The ground was full). But there's a lot of empty seats in that video
