17 years ago today this game which included I'd say our most famous goal of the Premier League era. Anyone was there won't ever forget the euphoria which followed Rooney's spectacular late winner.

Apologies if this is a repeat - I stumbled across it this morning.

My personal favourite bit was shortly after soton had eventually scored to make it 5-1 and the away fans singing "you only sing when you're five-up" - so straight away we score again.

A great team stymied that year by injuries. I know the gobshites won the league, but I'd still rather be back in the 80s where we were at least decent, feared and roundly respected.
