Waste of a place

Going back to the threads original post, I would say Pienaar is ace but...
Personally I wouldn't miss any of Jelavic, Alkaraz, Kone, Gibson, Heittinga, Hibbert, Osman, Naismith or Vellios from the squad if reasonable offers came in.
I think they could all be cheaply repalced by younger or just better players, except Gibson who when playing would be an equal to McCarthy or Barry, but who simply doesn't game enough games per season.

I had been really frustrated with Pienaar this season until recently. Think he's been quality the last few games. He still has a lot to offer and unlike Osman, has pace over 5 yards which mean he can burst pass players, especially with the skill he has.
 
Said it before that it is a help he was allowed to recover from injury rather than playing with a knock all the time. Back to his best now. Can't understand why managers don't take short term pain for long term gain more often instead of playing injured players all the time.
