It;s not. It's an unnecessary layer of bureacracy that isn't consistently applied...as I'm CERTAIN we'll find out soon enough when we play any of the elite clubs.

It's there to cement the present order of things...it wouldn't be agreed to otherwise.

..by the time the next World Cup comes around I think it will be firmly embodied as an integral part of the game and we’ll wonder why it wasn’t introduced sooner. You mention bias towards certain clubs, but that’s exactly what happens now.

...then it's not doing the job claimed for it if it doesn't change that, is it?

..I honestly think it will. I think there will be a new interpretation of certain rules, but it will bring consistency and more of a level playing field.

Just my opinion, only time will tell but i’ve been calling for its introduction ever since Derek Mountfield talked about the Anfield worm.

The verdicts on incidents pulled up for inspection will become ironed out and consistently applied...that just leaves the almighty problem of what gets pulled up for review from our bank of monitor watchers who may have goodmness knows what personal axes to grind / favouritism they apply.
For that very obvious arbitrary decision making on 'review worthy' incidents it will ALWAYS be a problem.

Not a pen.

The fact it took them a good three minutes to decide that it was, was a farce.

VAR had a decent tournament for the most part but failed at the last moment and tipped the balance in a tight final.

..I doubt there’ll be the tv monitor decision at the side of the pitch. I can see that being ditched and the process becoming more streamlined. Either the 4th Official will adjudicate and inform the referee (as in cricket), or it will be shown on a big screen (as in rugby).

That’s how I think it will go but regardless, it’s here to stay.

Not a pen in a million years, anyone who has the played the game must realise that, his hand is coming down because he is jumping up, it takes a deflection from the french players head of which he is half a meter behind, its been given because it has been judged on slow motion, which isn't a fair representation. Even harsher as perisic was excellent

Has anyone asked Perisic if it was a penno yet ?

After its all calmed down, he may just say 'yeah, I handled it like'

I can’t stand VAR, I’m totally against it.

I’m going with it being the right decision on this occasion, but it wasn’t clear cut enough to “change” the decision, for me.

What gets me though is why the First free kick wasn’t called back and reversed under VAR, once it was clear it was a design.

I don’t like to bin VAR before it goes any further. It’s only going to get worse.
