Walking

I'm in the market for some new walking shoes, currently have some Scarpa boots, earlier version of those https://www.scarpa.co.uk/mountain/sl-active/ which are great for long distance and rough terrain, but I'd quite like some good walking shoes for more well trodden paths.

Any suggestions welcome.

I`ve only ever used - Zamberlan`s, for the past 30 yrs mate.

They are beautiful boots, the leather is incredibly soft, high quality and doesn`t split as long as you look after them ( use Nikwax etc after drying out )

You can get them resoled once the soles go.

They ain`t cheap, but they really are worth paying for.

Same with my Scarpa boots. I Nikwax normally a few times a year. Not heard much of Zamberlan I'll check it out.

Last time I was walking Pendle Hill I saw a Red Kite. I was genuinely excited to see it. Hadn't seen one in about 20 years before that.

Won`t be long before they are pretty much everywhere suitable the way they are going.

Along with Peregrines a tremendous conservation success story.

Unfortunately Kestrels are going the other way and they don`t know why.
