2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

Honestly I cannot fathom how he’s become a professional footballer.

Absolutely no where near the standard required.

For me, he’d be best as a left sided centre back in a three..he’s never a wingback for me.

Such a weird footballer that he is so averse to going forward at all. He always throws the cross in early even when he has a ton of space to move into and its almost always bad. I can't wait till we finally get better options at full back that actually want to get forward, it'd be night and day difference to our general play if we did.

I do feel like I see him go forward after his pass to the wing. It seems to me he does this a lot. He gets some good crosses in here and there. I just don’t see the same Myko that people say passes forward to a winger and just sits and watches from behind. He’s not Baines. But he’s held his own against top strikers. He’s not the best by no means. But I think he deserves more credit than he gets in here most times. I say all of this fully ready to be riddled with bullets 😂.

He’s so bad at footy.

That pass in the 1st half where Alcaraz was offside by 5 yards and any player with a footballing brain would have known that, but no, Mykolenko is that scared of having the ball at hia feet his first instinct is to get rid.

Him and O'Brien are 100% hands down 2 of the worst full backs in the league.

He played LCB for Kiev before and LB.

Bit concerning Moyes wants to give him a new deal as it suggests he's happy with him being first choice and we don't need to upgrade

I don’t interpret that as blind support and confidence in his abilities. I take that as Everton having limited resources to spend and he’s good enough and we should spend our money on RB and strikers.

Its protecting his value. Also, if Aznou is being prepared for next season then Mykolenko could be backup, or sold.

Theres times when he could come inside with the ball and run or pass centrally...also times when he could bomb to the byline and cross from there

It is frustrating that he only ever knocks in a cross which doesnt have anyone to score on the end...very bad luck really.

A quick LB who runs at players, has a quality cross and can pick a pass would be night and day. Also on the right.

We saw Dibling 1v2 today like Grealish on the left...they need overlapping full backs the opposition are frightened of.

If nothing else just so theyre 1v1.

Unfortunately Aznou is not going to be first choice for a long while as Moyes clearly isn't a fan

I've come to understand why this kind of opinion still exists. You look at today and you think he didn't really do anything wrong, but the biggest issue is he didn't do anything at all.

I'm convinced his mentality every game is to survive 90 minutes by doing as little as possible so he doesn't put himself in jeopardy. It's like playing with 10 men. Even out of possession, which is clearly his strength, he doesn't impose himself on the game.
