We had probably a more difficult time winning the ECWC. The UEFA Cup was always the toughest competition back then imo.

Just as we, historically, are bigger than City and Chelsea. Miles bigger.

However right now, we're way behind those two, and Villa are even further behind us. Villa won't be challenging for promotion for a few seasons as they are in a complete mess, while we're moving forwards with strides thanks to good management and better owners.

Would love Villa to go down to League One, but unfortunately won't happen thanks to their victory last night which puts them 9 clear of the relegation zone. Still, let them settle into being a Championship side, that's also fine.

Just curious about it, did villa make the 100 seasons of top flight football at all before they went down? I know we got ours a long time ago now and that season they were on 84 years worth, so did 16 years pass?

I think that is the be all and end all to be honest. We have spent a lot more time being part of the top league than they have. For their european cup they have spent more time outside of the top division in their history. We have been ever present more than any other club as a top flight team, therefore i would compare us to a giant in the country, always there no matter how bad we are.

It is like wigan, are wigan a big club comparable to other decent clubs just because they have a trophy win?
