Having watched it all, I can categorically say that is the best I've seen Everton play in Europe since the 2-0 "win" over Florentina in 2008.

Onwards and upwards blues, and hopefully here's to a successful night for the tiny tots who will play in our final group game on 11th December!

Wolfsburg had 7 shots on target from their 38 chances tonight. They 27 chances at Goodison; and yet we effectively beat them 6-1 on aggregate. Wolfsburg must really hate us.

Their Wolfsburg disallowed goal was clearly onside but I thought overall we played better and made clearer chances. Well in Lukaku, and good to see Mirallas on the scoresheet. Garbutt didn't look out of place at all and it's nice that we can relax and focus on the Premier League. Great stuff.

No:

Baines
Coleman
Stones
Barry
Barkley
Naismith

Still pissed it.

alcaraz, oviedo, gibson, pienaar etc.

A top-class away performance, the only player who let us down was McGeady.

Not letting his poo-ness ruin this for me though, absolutely buzzing we went there and not only qualified but won in style. A memorable night for the club that will be fondly remembered for a long time. That result and our performance should make everyone sit up and take notice of us. We have to be considered one of the favourites to win it now and rightfully so.

thought mcgeady was fantastic tonight bar the miss tbh. has anyone ever mentioned his control of the ball? it is utterly sublime, he brings balls down with so much ease.

Thats the kind of performance that is going to carry us through this competition, i'll happily have us playing on the break as long as we can stay solid at the back. Happy happy right now.

Also hope the club do the sensible thing and slash the price of the tickets for the russians visit, fill the ground, let the kids have a run out in front of a packed goodison.

which they did, well in the evs

We were a bit shaky first half and deserved to go 1 nil down, but that's to be expected as Wolfsburg were predictably bang up for it and had home advantage, while we were playing without 3 of our first choice back four and half of our midfield.

Tactically the whole group stage has been excellent, from Martinez. We've gone away, been cautious and prepared to accept draws with weakened sides, before taking teams back to Goodison and schooling them. For a European first-timer, he's doing remarkably well. Another positive indicator of his abilities as a manager.

yeah, i think his style of football is perfectly suited to europe as well, especially away from home. people said this at the start of the season and they've been proved right. this wasn't even a vintage martinez performance either, we didn't keep anywhere near as much of the ball as we normally do, but he got his tactics spot on tonight. probably wouldn't have worked earlier in the season when we defended like retards though.

Close though....

1st loss in europa since we last played them (y) that's what you meant. an amazing 3 game undefeated streak
