A top-class away performance, the only player who let us down was McGeady.

Not letting his poo-ness ruin this for me though, absolutely buzzing we went there and not only qualified but won in style. A memorable night for the club that will be fondly remembered for a long time. That result and our performance should make everyone sit up and take notice of us. We have to be considered one of the favourites to win it now and rightfully so.
Sloopy on the ball but ran his socks off pal

Apprantly adult tickets vs the Russians are £15; brilliant if true

As for the performance tonight, and how thin our squads got - I really worried when McCarthy went off but that Bešić ain't half bad is he.

Brilliant team performance, the right side got targeted rightfully and Perisic had Hibbert doing swan lake all first half, McGeay helped with a shift in the second

Up the blues

Wolfsburg had 38 shots but I'd be willing to bet that a good 30 of them were just random hit and hopes from odd angles on the edge of the box.

We were great. Can't be fecked typing on my phone so I'll have it at that.

Roll on Sunday.
Maybe it was the fact i knew we were already through, but i was never worried about them hurting us, always felt comfortable watching them attack.

That Perisic was brilliant though, we'd destroy all before us with him on one wing and Kev on the other

.....imagine Besic as a kid playing on those park pitches. He was the one coming off covered in mud from head to toe, his poor mother must have had some washing to do. I was chuffed when he came in and I'm even more chuffed now, hope he hasn't got a little hammy near the end.

Thought Hibbo had another decent game tonight, never unduly flustered even when caught out a couple of times. A good squad player still.

I can't believe how negative some people on here are.

I'm not a beaming ray of sunshine who sees positives in everything but come on!

We've a scored two brilliant counterattacking goals and kept a clean sheet against one of Europe's most in form teams to top the group.

Smile.
Plus McCarthy was out injured early, Barkley came on late. Naismith, Barry, Baines and Coleman weren't even there. Just too comfortable against a supposedly good German team.

We were a bit shaky first half and deserved to go 1 nil down, but that's to be expected as Wolfsburg were predictably bang up for it and had home advantage, while we were playing without 3 of our first choice back four and half of our midfield.

Tactically the whole group stage has been excellent, from Martinez. We've gone away, been cautious and prepared to accept draws with weakened sides, before taking teams back to Goodison and schooling them. For a European first-timer, he's doing remarkably well. Another positive indicator of his abilities as a manager.
