Vellios or Anichebe.

Anichebe is a big lump, he has little to offer other than direct running and upper body strength which is why he so often works as a super-sub against tired defenders.

Vellios has more intelligence, a better touch, a better finish and better movement.

Also, as said above, Anichebe has been here five years, in and about the first team and has shown little sign of going beyond the level he is at, scoring few goals in the process. Vellios has been given half a chance by the manager over 6 months and has found the net for us in games when the team weren't playing well.

vellios has composure and it wont be long before he is in the full Greece team so he will develop better playing international football. He does need to kick on a bit this season...not much, just improve on last season to keep the upward trajectory. He is only 18/19 years old. Vic on other hand...this really is last chance saloon for him. He has been unlucky with injuries so he needs to stay fit and keep his head straight. But to be honest, if anyone comes in with a 3m bid, I'd sell him. And if he ends up doing well elsewhere then i'd be happy for him

Find it a bit curious that some people think Vellios has better 'tactical awareness' when he has gone missing in both of his starting appearances.

Anichebe collects the ball with his back to goal and to his marker and moves it onto his right foot, with the turning circle of a small boat.

Vellios could be a Sunday League player and have a shout at being more tactically aware than Victor.

This is like asking Messi or Henderson FFS.

Vellios is a sexy [Poor language removed] and should get 15 goals next season (if I was his manager).

Anichebe should get one assist ... For a deflected Franco Di Santo goal away at Norwich next season.

So yeah, Vellios for me.

Vellios is big prospect, Anichebe is only terrible because of his attitude, it stinks. If he had a greater work-rate and enjoyed his football a hell of a lot more than he does now, he could be a very good forward.

We need a proper backup striker, someone who can push Jelavic for a starting place. These two both have some assets, but we can do better, and we need to do better if we're gonna challenge for Europe. Once Pienaar's secured our top target should be getting in a striker on loan.

DIDNT SEE MESSI IN THE EUROS

Vellios is the only man I've seen seduce a ball into the back of the net.

With little more than an inviting glance, I bet he could stop ninja stars thrown by a crazed fashion designer before they killed the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Just sayin'.

How about neither??

Vic is not as bad as people make out...
Vellios is not as good as people make out...

IMO the best scenario for us would be selling Vic and loaning out vellios who does look very promising but.. Is No where near ready for leading our front line at this present time!

Pretty much my view really.

I would rather be left one man short up front than play Anichebe.

Compared to other players he has been given enough chances, and has failed to take them. His attitude stinks and it baffles me that Moyes - who can really hold a grundge - has not shipped him out.

Despite his injuries I would rather have kept Vaughan.
