The only animal product that I eat is fish. I don't eat meat, eggs or dairy products. Meaning, no milk, cheese or any product that contains a hint of an animal. I was a vegan for about 7 years but started eating fish for health reasons.

If you are vegetarian for moral reasons, I would argue that it is far less cruel to eat fish than it is to eat dairy.

But I'm not judging you :lol::lol:

my mate eats fish and claims he's a "Pescatarian", he made that up right ?

I would be happy to be a vegetarian if bacon butties and cornish pasties were exempt, oh and a steak once in a while and Christmas dinner. But apart from that I'll happily go veggie.

I dont understand how u could get enough protein. I need to have three portions of protein the size of my palm a day, but my iron and protein intake is poor, so maybe for people who have good intake they could eat less protein.

Nuts.

Dunno mate. I only started eating fish again in November, and didn't know there was a special name. I would describe myself as someone who eats fish and no other animal products. I presume your mate is telling the truth or is he the type to have a laugh about such things?

Pescetarian.

Definition: Occasionally used to describe those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. Although the word is not commonly used and a pescatarian is not technically a vegetarian, more and more people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or as a stepping stone to a fully vegetarian diet. Pescetarians often believe that moderate consumption of fish or fish oils, which are high in Omega-3 fatty acids, is necessary for optimum health, although vegetarian alternatives, such as flax seed oil, are available.

Cheers,

no he's just a r/s, need i say more ?

Been out with a couple of veggies, a vegan and one of these pescetarians, to each their own really.

I have no idea how I keep running across them though, but hardly something I ask about when I pick up on a night out - somewhat ironically, can't remember any of them having any qualms against performing certain girlfriend related favours... Interesting moral issue there.

Have learnt some interesting things - had no idea that vegans can't drink a lot of wines, something to do with the clarifying process...
