VAR

How can anyone to do with VAR watch a rugby game and not see what they are doing is ridiculous. Just copy the rugby example. TMO talks to the ref in real time, they chat back and forth and officiate in real time. I guess the major issue is, what is a foul and what is a hand ball. A few seasons back we got a load of pens against for the ball hitting a hand from 2 foot away but now we seem to have all sorts going on and nothing. The examples in the videos above (Keane in the Brighton match) and what we had today is so obviously wrong its painful. How can VAR be justified. The stuff the R/S get away with is insane.

We need ex-pros reffing and doing a rugby style TMO with a precise understanding of a foul and a handball.

If that is the case, then it's gross negligence, and it was an oversight by the VAR official. In any other job, you'd get binned for this level of ineptitude.
Said earlier. Ref gave pen against Maguire. VAR deemed it wrong decision. Ref watched it and agreed.

Ref did not give the pull by De Ligt. VAR will say they saw it but didn’t deem the ref had made a clear error by ignoring it. All this recent crap about how quickly you let go of a shirt.

Thats the way they will explain it. If the ref had given the pen against De Ligt, VAR may not have overturned it, and all the camera footage would have been from behind the goal.

2 separate decisions and they will say their own stupid rules mean they can’t conflate the two.

Combination of stupid badly written rules about clear and obvious which is totally subjective and impossible to define, very very low IQ people sitting in front of the TV screens, and a ref to willing to bottle it and rely on what the tits on VAR tell him, rather than asking for better viewpoints and then saying “hang on, Maguire didn’t really do much, but it’s still a penalty.”

Bias is clearly a thing. Happens far too often. But I do wonder how people this thick actually manage to execute the bias so flawlessly.

Other than goal line tech and some offsides, all of it has made football undeniably worse as a “sport”.

It's a foul, and the ref's given a penalty. Yet the refs have gone through all this rigmarole, and the only reason I can see is in order not to give the penalty.

If this had happened in the 27th minute of Brighton vs West Ham there is absolutely no chance that they would overturn it. There are things being considered here which shouldn't be considered. It can't possibly be fair.

Ex-pros would be absolutely dreadful. Have you not heard them?
