Brendan O’Neil living up to his rep of having the absolute worst takes on everything ever.

Unsurprisingly it’s basically the libs fault in his eyes

Any self respecting Evertonian should be all three. We've seen our fair share of knobheads and swindlers so should be able to spot them with ease. That being said you are right in that things aren't as bad as I made out, it's a minority but it's always the minority that have the loudest voices. As for my options? I'd rather just sit on my ass, have a power wank and have a moan. Be arsed knocking on peoples doors asking them to vote whilst getting cups of piss thrown at me.

Really? You can't be a blue if you support Brexit? I think you need step outside your bubble, pal, there's a whole world out there, you know. Try meeting people with different points of view, try learning why they think like they do. Just because someone supports Brexit, doesn't make them a racist knobhead. You honestly sound just as narrow minded as the people you claim to hate

you're missing the point

do the numbers support the commonly held belief hate crime is on the rise? either it's a yes or no

if it's a no then why is the liberal media so obsessed about it?

In 2017/18, the police recorded 11,638 sexual orientation hate crimes (up 27%), 7,226 disability hate crimes (up 30%) and 1,651 transgender identity hate crimes (up 32%). These large percentage increases across all three strands may suggest that increases are due to the improvements made by the police into their identification and recording of hate crime offences and more people coming forward to report these crimes rather than a genuine increase.

So it is going up, but it’s questionable whether the increase is actually real in terms of the number of incidents happening. Perversely the ‘real’ number of these instances (reported and unreported) could be dropping, whilst the recorded rate goes up - based on society being less homophobic meaning a) people are more willing to come forward and b) police are more likely to take their complaints seriously.
