Its what we are. If Sala played for us, we would hate Ramos, if Dunc played for them we would want him still in Barlinie.

No point fighting it.
yeah but we would still be bitter and start petitions, when Suarez played for them we hated him but once the game was over that was it, those lot are still going on about it

Alisher Usmanov, potential Arsenal chairman, is a Vicious Thug, Criminal, Racketeer, Heroin Trafficker and Accused Rapist

Quite an interesting article on our new overlord. Some interesting comment by Arsenal fans underneath too, going back over 10 years, not wanting him involved. Having money and investment is brilliant but at what price?

It might not matter but Man city’s owners are no better

I haven’t read either the article above or the ones on Usmanovs past, but I’m in the ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’ camp.
Would love EFC to be competing at the very top again.

Quite an interesting article on our new overlord. Some interesting comment by Arsenal fans underneath too, going back over 10 years, not wanting him involved. Having money and investment is brilliant but at what price? We pride ourselves on integrity and and being a family, community Club. Is everyone on board with this? Are we really so desperate for mega investment that people will overlook this mans past? There has been outrage (faux ?) whenever there’s been anything questionable, links or otherwise, with other Clubs or players being involved with shady characters and yet, we are all salivating over this man giving us investment. I was as desperate as the next man for him to come onboard, I didn’t know about the above story but having read it, I’m now not so sure. I take pride in this Clubs history, tradition and integrity. Are we gonna put all that at stake for a ‘ Vicious Thug, Criminal, Racketeer, Heroin Trafficker and Accused Rapist’?

But Moshiri is only a billionaire by the grace of Usmanov.

The "Moshiri the lucky accountant" narrative doesn't really stack up. Moshiri himself is clearly an incredibly astute investor and businessman. Usmanov is very ruthless and surrounds himself with talented business people who will make him richer - he's not a charity case. If Moshiri has been his main business partner for all these years, then there is a good reason for that.

Hes not his main buisness partner, and you would be suprised with who he surrounds himself with.

Thank you for drawing this article to my attention but I have to admit I was already aware of the allegations contained in it, they have been widely reported and public knowledge long before Usmanov or indeed Moshiri were even linked to our club.
It is also worth noting that there are also equally respected opinions in publication which paint an entirely different picture of Usmanov and the events you relay above. To gain a balanced view you should seek them out before jumping to conclusions.
You should also be aware of the situation within the former Soviet Union since its dissolution. If you care to examine the information it is maelstrom of internecine fighting between powerful figures who have arisen, and slander, libel and false imprisonment are indeed some of the gentler tactics freely used and abused in the battle for power. Context is important.
I also find it curious that given Moshiris deep involvement Usmanov as a friend and a business partner, and also that we are sponsored by USM , that your social conscience chooses this moment to be pricked.
As for our integrity. I admire Kenwrights attention to the welfare of former players and am filled with pride with EitC, long may it continue. But how do you feel about his association with a certain Mr. P. Green? Not a lot of integrity there is there?
When I started watching Everton in the 60 s and we produced a succession of great teams including the finest we have seen , we were owned by a man who made his money by preying on other peoples weaknesses. Such was the opposition to him profiteering from football, that football clubs including our own, stopped publishing fixtures. They failed and many years later he bought our club and we became 'the Mersey Millionaires'. Integrity?
If based on this article you decide to turn your back on the club should he arrive then I respect your decision.
However if I was going to abide by such a moralistic viewpoint I should have turned my back on football as soon as I was old enough to form a coherent opinion, about half a century ago.

Tell you what is odd, that when someone posts something that doesn’t go with the narrative, they get accused of being RS. I was sent the article this morning and found it interesting. I posted it on here, rightfully, asking questions about his past. But if you are all willing to overlook his past, then that makes us all hypocrites. And we can no longer take the moral high ground, which is something we do. A lot. This club has a unique history, prides it’s self on the people’s club mantra, a community club, a family club full of integrity and honesty. I really wanted this fella to come. I knew nothing about his past, so I posted the information on here for you all to make your own minds up. Some of you might not have known about this also. The internet can educate you. Shoot me. The Arsenal fans in 2007 in the comments didn’t want him because they read the article. Articles like that sway people’s opinion. And it’s in the fans interest for it to come out.

The problem with your argument is this. In football the moral high ground is a moveable feast, dictated by finance.

I don't want integrity. I want silverware.

@Russian Evertonian is an exiled political journalist though mate.

I should think he`ll have a much better knowledge of this, than virtually every single poster on here.
From what I heard it’s possible. But personally I don’t want this to happen. He is an oligarch, close to the Russian corrupt government. Farhad is clean, no investigations about him but Usmanov is famous and apart from the investments I am not sure I want his name to be associated with my beloved club.

Any comment on the allegations you're a free loading ratsnake who takes advantage of others generosity and then crap on those less fortunate from a great height?
