Ironic that FFP had the effect of locking in the vast funding into the rich clubs and putting the shutters down on any other clubs joining in the fun - almost certainly the exact opposite of what it was meant to achieve...

It’s the exact opposite of what they said they “wanted” to achieve . They’re more than happy with the usual teams being in the cl each year and nobody upsetting them and joining in

So, conspiracy theory then...

The 'official' view is that it was designed to prevent the likes of the Qataris throwing limitless funds into the likes of City to make football a 'buy a championship' game. Many will say, too late for that, but it was mainly designed to stop the progress of that juggernaut. Unintended consequence is it freezes the current haves and have nots.

But if you want to believe the 'big clubs' concocted this deal together and were in cohoots with the 'authorities', then crack on mate.

Mate they literally changed the rules to get the RS in the CL

That's exactly what they wanted, and what teams at the top wanted the most self preserving set of rules ever.

In fairness we finished 11th the season he came and were a long long way off the top 6. We have spent money very badly for the first two years, but since he has came we have now established ourselves, across those 3 seasons as the main challengers to the top 6.

I wouldn't be marking our value next to Newcastle either, certainly not when we have a world class stadium in arguably one of the best sporting locations in the country.
Come on lad the numbers don't add up.
Even with a new stadium were not going to be worth over a billion which is what moshiri would of spent by then.

We've lost stones, Lukaku, Barkley and gueye who have gone to cl clubs because we weren't going to be in it anytime soon.

We can't attract big players even though we have the money and the wage structure.

So far hes invested 350m, not sure where you get 1billion from.

I'm not sure they are trying to attract the big players though. We are buying younger talented players with the intention of developing them to a good level, which makes sense and seems to be going well.

Big player........
Kristof Van Hout
Ron Gaunt/ ISL/ SPORTZPICS
Kristof von Hout is officially recognized as the tallest professional soccer player in the world, measuring at a heighty 6-foot-10. He is supposedly a centimeter taller than Millar, giving him the title outright. The Belgian is a scary looking goalkeeper who one would expected to claim most aerial balls floated into the box. The biggest club Hout has played for is Belgian giants Standard Liege, and he currently plays for Belgian Pro League side KVC Westerloo, who he joined this summer. Hout won the Belgian Cup with Genk back in 2013, his only trophy as a player to date.
