Usmanov

Even if your friends co ownership is hard. I can see usmanov helping out through sponsorships but ultimately I see this as moshiris project.

He has dropped enough hints, he is here and will be channelling more money our way in due course. It may be covert rather than overt, but it's happening already, I believe.

He's brought Everton into disrepute. We are no longer the club respected in the years previous to him turning up. That is a fact.

He has a poor public image that reflects badly on the club; he's employed a couple of bellends (one of whom made us a laughing stock in the tansfer market and then on the pith, and the other was a crook); his plan to provide a stadium is dependent on...erm...yes, you guessed it...that old familiar Everton strategy of getting someone to pay for it, and in the meantime treat fans like divvies regarding it.

No one can dispute those points. And no one can dispute that what we were promised when he first arrived has not materialised and it's been a huge let down.

I can dispute your points.
Where on earth do you get the justification for your statement that he's brought Everton into disrepute ? Absolute rubbish !
What is this poor public image that you mention , because I don't recognise that either ?

I really don't get what he gets out of being covert. Some people ask why he'd do it anyway without significant profit, but I don't see that as a stumbling block. This is about prestige over anything else. Look how much I've got, look how good my team is etc.

I went to Amsterdam and on 1 of the boat tours, the guide said that the bigger buildings have many windows, and the reason for this, is they taxation laws used to stipulate that it wasn't the size of the building, but the number of windows in the house that was taxable. So the more affluent citizens would put more windows in their buildings as a statement of how much money they had. Literally no other benefit that to show off.

So Profit is not always a reason.

But why he'd plow money in and take no credit is beyond me.

This isn't a short term project
The stadium still has to get past the UNESCO or who or any other people who oppose the stadium which will take time.
We haven't even got a capacity or a final design yet
Then there's building the stadium which due to the restricted location will probably take 2 seasons if done properly
Then there's getting the team into an established top 4 team which were not even close to, your looking at bringing in at least 3, 100m+ players

Your looking at 10 years and over 1bn spent, then to sell the club your looking at getting in a buyer which won't be easy.

Moshiri has already spent over 300m on players, we can't even attract a world class manager let alone players

Then there's usmanov, he said himself it's going to be difficult living in this country, every deal he does here will be under scrutiny ,abramovich is already looking to leave
For a true blue staunch evertonian you seem mighty worried that a multi billionaire may somehow become involved with club.. weird that.

Whose timescale are we working on ?
Moshiri and Usmanov decided long ago who would be involved in Everton and if it would be a joint project or a solo run. We have no idea just as we had no idea that Usmanov would sell his Arsenal shares to Kroenke until one day he did. I have no doubt that also was not a decision that was made suddenly or overnight.

I do think the political tensions between England and Russia are factors in the timing of any announcements and in everything that has happened with both Moshiri and Usmanov there do not appear to be any solid leaks of genuine information just guesses and wishes just as I have done here.
But, whatever happens it won't be because posters on GOT think it should happen now.

Don’t know why anyone is bothered about this , we’ve spent a fortune anyway and we’re still rubbish

Its just fun playing Billionaire Blackjack mate.

A few lads chanced on a wider picture not long after Moshiri pitched up, and since then, well, the theory, which is all it ever was, has taken up its own narrative with every twist and turn.

Do you have a plan B Dave?
