Usmanov either buys into Everton, moors his mighty yacht right outside the new stadium with just a short cherrub driven charriot ride across the car park. Or, buys into them lot and queues up for the match bus with all the other tourists with a tray of curry and chips. Welcome to our new overlord.
It is down here in Australia.

Liverpool's American owners open to selling off minority investment
Updated 8 hours ago
The Premier League club was responding Thursday to the Daily Mail newspaper reporting that a relative of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour was exploring a takeover in the last year that valued Liverpool at 2 billion pounds ($3.5 billion AUD).
The pursuit of Liverpool did not progress. The 18-time English champions were bought in 2010 by the Fenway Sports Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox, for 300 million pounds.
"FSG have been clear and consistent in their stance that the club is not for sale," Liverpool said in a statement. "What the ownership have said - again clearly and consistently - is that 'under the right terms and conditions we would consider taking on a minority investor, if such a partnership was to further our commercial interests in specific market places and in-line with the continued development and growth of the club and the team."'
Liverpool reached its first Champions League final in 11 years in May but lost to Real Madrid. The club was England's biggest spender ahead of the new season with a net transfer outlay of around $300 million AUD. After a fourth-placed Premier League finish in May, Jurgen Klopp's side has opened the new season with back-to-back victories as Liverpool chases a first English title since 1990.
What sort of best mate goes and buys your arch-rival footy club, I wouldn't even do that on footy manager
The cynical side in me instantly links the timing of this 'minority interest for sale' kite flying exercise with that lot dropping their cacks for Usmanov. They see he is available, they fear he is drifting to ourselves with potential commercial impacts to the valuation of their own (same city and local profile dynamic) investment and this is a blocking attempt.Usmanov spoke about investment opportunity and a return in his statement. Liverpool being valued at £2bn doesn’t make investing in them as any economic sense. He’s already had a ‘limited role’ at arsenal, he wouldn’t want the same under Henry at the RS. Currently what Everton is valued at, a new stadium in an iconic location and the regeneration of the surrounding area does make economic sense to an investor.

They likely have no interest in taking on a new investor - they have plenty of capital as it is - but by bringing him to their table in a minority capacity they would prevent him doing so with us. And protect their own investment. There are no levels to which that lot would be prepared to stoop.

I have to agree with this post the Liver Building move was significant imho. The waterfront itself offers a tremendous opportunity and a chance for someone to influence a whole region. People like Usmanov think differently they like things that others cant or dont have and not necessarily physical things....respect, adoration, philantropy..making things happen that can be seen by all.USM interest will be as much about the entire waterfront project, spearheaded by the Everton project, as much as for football reasons. The untapped potential is huge and the benefit, not just to the football club but the city in general, is massive.
Look at what Manchester City have achieved in a city where their rivals are far bigger than the RS on a global scale, and they where starting out from a joke club standing.
The purchase of the liver building was just the start.

Anderson mentioned something recently about the club looking at other sources of funding besides the city loan..
We shall know more soon enough.
The morons who moaned about the council helping us will now moan saying were doing nothing for the City if we cut the council outThe piece from Joe Anderson was interesting where he almost accepts that the 7m annual income for the council from the loan surrounding the new Everton ground may be lost because of a different funding model.
Where I wonder could Everton hope to find somebody who may be prepared to help bankroll a new stadium ?
