clearly there was a reason Moshiri never had any say in the running of Arsenal, he is a tit if you are in any doubt listen again to his Jim white interviews and the unexpected losses speech. however you keep telling yourself Alisher is coming!

If Usmanov comes to Everton it wont be 'to knock his trusted friend and advisor off his perch.' It would have been the strategy all along and no doubt involved Moshiri and the stadium/Liverpool waters incentive.

These two are close partners, they will have discussed the Everton opportunity and plans for Usmanov (if any).

Ignore the colours of football (and add a huge leap of faith) is this a win-win for the billionaires?

Kreonke pays a bit over the odds for remaining AFC shares. He then goes dark ops with their financials etc. Controls a major English footy team and all that brings.

Usmanov gets a slight premium for a lame investment. Buys EFC and gets involved with a £5bn development along Liverpools waterfront. He gets to own a modern stadium and a major English footy team and all that brings (along with potential dark ops on our own finances).

It's like Game of Pawns or something.

The statement from Usmanov, if it was on the game show 3-2-1, It would end up with Ted Rogers saying...

'Welcome to Everton Alisher'

The key parts are the value of Arsenal and the custodian bit at the end. Previously he has steadfastly said 'No' to any hint of selling.
He had no need to say it, first time he has ever stated he would be open to an offer from the right candidate, that is exactly what he is saying.

What I get from the statement is he has interest from another buyer in his shares, and he's encouraging them by saying he's open to selling, and that is what has flushed out Kroenke's bid, by releasing the statement he's also driving up the price of his shares.

He said the same thing in August last year.

Statement from 2016....

Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov has denied suggestions that he is considering selling his 30 per cent stake in the club.

Usmanov acted in response to speculation that he would offload his company Red and White Holdings' interest and instead plough his money into Everton, where long-term business partner Farhad Moshiri bought a 49 per cent stake earlier this year.

"Contrary to some speculative media reports, Red and White Holdings would like to state that Mr. Alisher Usmanov does not intend to sell his stake in Arsenal Holdings Plc ("Arsenal")," the company said.

"Mr. Usmanov continues to be committed to Arsenal and considers his stake in the club as a long-term investment for his family and future generations."

Think he has definitely changed his stance from 13 months ago

You are correct, i have misread someones post.

What has Usmanov ever shown in terms of being a capable owner other than not being Kroenke? Trust me Kroenke is an awful owner on both sides of the Atlantic, but just appearing unjustifiably better than him is not a saving grace I'd wish for.

he's less shady and more competent than our owners have been for years, so it's a Yes from me.

Be really tiring after a whilst of watching us win things mind you...
