He doesn't deserve hate because he seems a genuine guy but he was lining himself up for falls whenever he'd post stuff like ...

I don't get why any ITK would word any statement about a 'possible' transfer like that. He's an intelligent guy yet was naieve enough to post rubbish like that when he knew there would always be a possiblity the deals might not happen. At best he jumps the gun on transfers and assumes too much will happen when nothing has been concluded at worst he's a bit foolish as he knows how some people will respond if he posts stuff like that and it doesn't work out.

Personally I think he's overly positive and just assumes players are more likely to want to come to us than they actually are. For instance, over Witsel I remember a post he made where his logic was that we've put in the best bid, Juve won't match it so to him he thought that justified saying 'Witsel is ours'. He'd never even considered the possibility that Witsel might just see out his contract or another club might come in at the last minute.

I feel sorry for him getting some of the grief he has but he hasn't helped his own cause by posting stuff in the way he did.

I agree he made a mistake with those tweets. But his insight into the business aspects of the game are impressive.
