Only issue is if he's getting subtle background help from America in their anti-russian agenda (not out the question- riots in Russia completely in their interests) - the government could come under some pressure to act.

Like was said earlier we're probably OK but I would be worried if I was Chelsea
er, until the other week America were more than friendly with Putin. Russia had their man in the White House.

The labour party today I will upset folk is a pseudo communist party. It is not the labour party of Harold Wilson, James Callaghan, and in Walton J Heffer that was true labour and got my vote, not the crap of today.
Is this Eric Heffer, the ex communist who was sacked from Harold Wilson's cabinet ? The man who said,

'The ruling class only believes in democratic socialism when it supports them.
When it doesn't it destroys it.'

The man who believed in Clause 4

Just wondering ?

*hurriedly puts in - hurry up Usmanov, I'll be dead before you.

Yes I think we are fine, and all the times people said "oh why doesn't Usmanov come out of the shadows, he'd do that if he was really involved" this is why.

Technically no money is transferred directly between him and Everton
Putin is doing a very good job with Russia and has really turned them around. He's also got a proud record?? of fighting Islamic extremists in the MIddle East, unlike America & Turkey who have funded them.
You could say something similar about 1 or 2 European leaders after the 1929 crash and the depression.
Some might even mention making the trains run on time and, and...erm, oh yes autobahns and such.

Pity about all the other shight that went with it.
Bit like that with Putin really
Paragon of virtue he ain't, even when judged by the low standards of politicians
Bad meff is the usual term.

Uncle can just moor up his superyacht off-shore and be immune from such sanctions....perhaps a nice little lagoon somewhere near BMD.....
Just outside the 3mile limit...Radio Caroline got away with it for years until they changed the law.
If it wasnt for them we wouldn't have R1 & R2...the law of unintended consequences

Putin is far from perfect, but the comparison with Hitler is absolutely ludicrous. Putin has held and won numerus elections. Hitler didn't. In about half the time Putin has been in power, Hitler had committed mass genocide, miurdered millions of Jewish people, declared war on most of the world, suspended all press freedoms, banned then murdered trade unionists, tried to murder every homosexual, slav, socialists, feminist, communist who was alive etc etc.

The comparison is way off.

Putin is unsavoury, so is Boris Johnson, Theresa May and David Cameron before them. Our political establishment are in no position to judge him, when you think of the stunts they've pulled around Brexit.

Who mentioned the 'H' word?
I was thinking more of a dictator who came to power in 1932, whose motto was "God, Fatherland and Family"
Putin is a de facto Dictator and all around bad Meff.
No amount of Boris Johnson etc whataboutery will change that.
Anyway Putins not the best choice of...'doing a good job' example, for almost anything...except Bad Meff

But even what Stalin did, is far beyond what Putin has done.

I don't agree with Putin, but some of the criticism of him is too harsh. I see our lot in charge as just as bad.

Putin has held and won numerus elections.

It's hard to lose when......

1. There isn't an opposition / party (see.. Boris Berfezovsky / Boris Nemtsov etc)

2. You count the votes

So saying they hold elections and he wins them isn't really a thing, North Korea also hold elections, good luck if you want to run in one

The guy rules the place and does what he can to keep power, but it isn't a democracy such as is enjoyed elsewhere in the world even if folks do get a 'vote'.
