Hollywoods ran out of ideas, that's why they're Doing so many remakes or unnecessary sequels. That ghostbuster remake they did will haunt me for a good few years yet

Yeah, but they are looking at them and thinking that with the tech available now, they can do better, often overlooking the fact that physical stunts and sets create an atmosphere that is hard to replicate in CG.

Give me practical stunts and animatronics any day of the week over CGI.

Just look at how much better the recent Mad Max, Chris Nolan films and the original Jurassic Park looks than the turgid stuff they roll out nowadays

Well, from the freaky Alien fanboys I follow on, the general consensus is a solid 7/10. Good, but could be better.

I will find out for myself on Thursday evening (NZST)!!!! Just over 48 hours to go for me!

I think it's all subjective mate.

First time with Prometheus, I was really disappointed, as I expected so much more.

However, having watched it many times since then, I've come to really like it.

It was just a little bit too much to get your head round, on first viewing.

I'm expecting similar with this film.

Only seen Prometheus the once, really liked the ideas in it and the fact it was at least trying to do something different, but found it a bit dull..

Might try again, especially if i go and see this new one

I think if you take it out of the alien franchise, and think of it as a standalone film, it's decent, minus a few silly things (like Theron's character running straight when the ship is rolling straight etc). Visually, I think it's a stunning film.

Have to say that bit with theron running straight is as bad as in game of thrones not zig zagging!! I screamed at the tv on that bit!
